Course Goals

The goal of the course Bachelor of Computer Science (Computer System Security) are: -

  1. Understanding the concepts and issues, technologies and methods in safety and damage computer systems.
  2. Apply knowledge and skills in problem solving through a system safety analysis, specification, design, implementation, testing, modifications, and documentation solution in a military environment.
  3. Apply knowledge and skills in the invasion and destruction of the system of military and national security environments such as intrusion detection systems and cyberwars.
  4. Willing to do the research and innovation in the field of computer system security.

Duration of Study

Program in Computer Science (Computer System Security) UPNM offered full time. Students may be allowed for a student to study at degree level is not less than six (6) semester and no more than eight (8) semesters. The calculation of the study period is calculated from the date of first registration of students entering degree level.

Programme Structure

To qualify for the award of a degree, students are required to take and pass a number of courses required, with at least 120 units of credit.

Programme Advantages

Department of Computer Science, UPNM has collaborated with EC-Council. International Council of Electronic Commerce Consultants (EC-Council) is a professional certification organizations. The agency is known for many certifications related to IT security. With this professional certification, students have a career in IT security as recognized by governments and international organizations. Therefore, the Department of Computer Science curriculum has included certification Certified Ethical Hacker (CEH) and Computer Hacking Forensic Investigator (CHFI) in courses such as TSS and TSS 3233 Ethical Hacker 2233 Digital Forensic. Students taking these courses will take an exam to get a certificate CEH and CHFI can use in developing their career in the field of IT security.
