SARJANA MUDA TEKNOLOGI MARITIM

Pogramme Objective

The objective of the program is to:

  1. Produce qualified graduates in the Bachelor of Malaysian maritime agencies, the maritime industry and the ports in the country and abroad.
  2. Producing graduates to serve in RMN,APMM and PDRM to award the following certificates:
    • Pandu Arah Falak Bahagian I dan II
    • Pandu Arah Falak Samudera
    • Awasan Kecekapan Anjungan Kapal
    • Awasan Bilik Jentera Kapal
  3. Qualify graduates continue their studies in the fields of maritime universities / colleges.
  4. Increase the ability of graduates in research and development in the maritime field.
  5. Qualify graduates in the military to be commissioned in the TLDM with Leftenan TLDM held DYMM SPB Yang Di Pertuan Agong.
  6. Qualify graduates to become a priest for the units of the Armed Forces of Malaysia.
  7. Qualifying graduates in martial arts with a grade of black belt.

Period of Study

Full-time minimum 6 semesters ( 3 Years) until maximum 8 semesters (4 Years).

Program Structure and Curriculum

The minimum amount of credit hours for a Bachelor of Maritime Technology is 120 credits. It is implemented in 6 semesters long and 2 short. The structure of the program is divided into core courses the university, faculty core courses, core courses and electives program. Distribution and percentage of credit hours are as follows:

Total credit hours are defined as students learning time. One credit hour is equivalent to 40 hours of student learning. Learning period covering the time of lectures, tutorials, practical exercises, individual work, group work, discussions, data collection, report writing, presentation, lecture preparation, review, quizzes, tests and exams.

Bachelor of Maritime Technology is the only academic program that is implemented to produce the executive officer for the nations maritime agencies particularly the navy, APMM, PDRM (Marine Branch), Department of Marine and Fisheries Department. It will qualify graduates to perform navigation tasks in the maritime agency vessels country. This program has great potential, especially in the countrys maritime agency career.
