What is CDiSS ?

CDiSS stands for the Centre for Defence and International Security Studies. It was established in January 2009 to promote research on defence and security studies at UPNM and to serve the needs of the Ministry of Defence Malaysia (MINDEF) and ultimately the nation in specific areas.

CDiSS has established working relationship with the following agencies:

• Southeast Asia Regional Centre for Counter Terrorism (SEARCCT)
• Ministry of Defence Malaysia (MINDEF)
• Institute of Strategic and International Studies (ISIS)
• Maritime Institute of Malaysia (MIMA).
• Institute of Diplomacy and Foreign Relations Malaysia (IDFR).
• Selected public Universities that have established centres on defence and security.

CDiSS has close working relationships with the following:

• Institut Des Hautes Études De Défense Nationale (IHEDN), Paris
• Network of ASEAN Defence and Security Institutions (NADI)
• S. Rajaratnam School of International Studies (RSIS), Singapore
• Institute of Public Security of Malaysia (IPSOM), Ministry of Home Affairs
