CLINICAL SKILLS LAB

INTRODUCTION

The Faculty of Medicine & Defense Health Clinical Skills Lab is a state-of-the-art learning center and is located on the 1st Floor of the Faculty main building. The lab provides an excellent opportunity for independent learning by providing the students with a conducive environment, models, manikins, and equipment necessary for the acquisition of hands-on clinical skills.

GENERAL OBJECTIVES

The general objective of the Clinical Skills Laboratory is to provide a fully equipped state-of-the art environment for medical students to practice clinical skills which are deemed essential for the effective and safe management of their future patients.

SPECIFIC OBJECTIVES

1. Provide the means to clinical faculty to offer medical students a variety of learning experiences for the development and refinement of the following clinical skills:

2. Promote the use of standardized patients for teaching.

3. Promote and support the use of Objective Structured Clinical Examination (OSCE)

4. Conduct research on the impact of early clinical exposures in the medical curriculum.
