22 APRIL 2026 | MITEC: Through Collabsphere 2: Strategic ICP – Bridging Local Capability and Global Expertise Under The National Defence Industry Policy, themed Integrating CDIM and Global OEMs: A New Era of Technology Transfer, UPNM has positioned academia at the forefront of the National Defence Industry Policy (DIPN) agenda, bridging the gap between policy, industry, and expertise toward achieving true self-reliance.
The forum featured a keynote address by the Deputy Minister of Defence, who emphasized the vital importance of strategic collaboration in fortifying the nation's defence industry ecosystem. Simultaneously, the Vice-Chancellor of UPNM, Lt Gen Datuk Wira Arman Rumaizi bin Hj Ahmad, reaffirmed the university’s role as a primary driver within this ecosystem.

20 APRIL 2026 | KUALA LUMPUR: UPNM has reinforced its role as the nation’s premier defence university through the exchange of documents involving 14 strategic collaborations with industry partners and agencies held in conjunction with DSA & NATSEC Asia 2026 at MITEC.
Significant partnerships with global players such as MBDA France, Airbus Helicopters, and MKE Turkiye reflect UPNM's active involvement in high-value defence technology development. Simultaneously, collaborations with MINDEF through the National Resilience Course and Cradle Fund further strengthen the agenda for national readiness, innovation, and commercialization.

11 APRIL 2026 | MELAKA: The Vice-Chancellor of UPNM, Lt Gen Datuk Wira Arman Rumaizi bin Hj Ahmad, today paid a courtesy call on His Excellency Tun Seri Setia Mohd Ali bin Mohd Rustam, the Yang di-Pertua Negeri of Melaka. The meeting took place immediately following the Handover Ceremony of the MADANI Adopted Village Program (Program Kampung Angkat MADANI) in Kampung Alai.
This program is a MADANI Government initiative spearheaded by UPNM, bringing significant transformation to Kampung Alai through infrastructure development and community initiatives valued at RM1 million, which are now being fully utilised by the local residents.

11 APRIL 2026 | MELAKA: UPNM today held the Handover Ceremony for the Kampung Angkat MADANI Programme projects in Kampung Alai, marking the successful implementation of a comprehensive community development initiative. The ceremony was officiated by YBhg. Lt Gen Datuk Wira Arman Rumaizi bin Hj Ahmad, Vice Chancellor of UPNM. Being a native of Kampung Alai himself, his involvement added a profound and personal significance to the local community.
The event was also attended by YB Datuk Wira Abdul Razak bin Abdul Rahman, Melaka State EXCO for Tourism, Heritage, Arts, and Culture, reflecting the state government's strong support and commitment to the community development agenda through the Kampung Angkat MADANI Programme.

With a total value of RM1 million, the implementation encompasses various development scopes, including the construction of a covered futsal court, upgrading of carpets and CCTV systems at Masjid Al-Falihin, installation of lighting at the new Islamic cemetery, roof repairs for economic stalls, and the construction of a landmark monument at the entrance of Kampung Alai. The initiative was further strengthened by educational development programmes at Sekolah Kebangsaan Alai, health screenings and wellness activities for the community, as well as the presentation of contributions to the JPKK, schools, and the asnaf group.
This achievement demonstrates UPNM's capability as an implementing agency that not only plans but successfully translates policy into high-impact action on the ground, bolstered by the cooperation of various parties. What was handed over today transcends physical projects; it represents functional facilities, an improved environment, and a tangible enhancement in the community’s well-being.
