UPNM Expands Access to Aviation Education Through Dual Qualification Programme Funding
3 APRIL 2026 | UPNM: The National Defence University of Malaysia (UPNM) has presented Education Funding Offer Letters to four students for the Bachelor of Aviation 2u1i (Dual Qualification) Programme under the Faculty of Engineering (FKJ), a result of a strategic collaboration with the International Aero Training Academy (IATAC).

The presentation was officiated by the Vice-Chancellor, Lt Gen Datuk Wira Arman Rumaizi bin Hj Ahmad, as part of the university's ongoing commitment to expanding access to high-impact strategic fields. Through this initiative, students are not only pursuing academic studies but are also provided exposure to professional pathways within the aviation industry, bridging the gap between the classroom and the professional world.
This programme is an integral component of the UPNM30 Special Project, overseen by the Senior Assistant Vice-Chancellor (Strategic Development), which focuses on nurturing future talent within the nation’s strategic sectors. While this milestone begins with four pioneering students, it paves the way for more extensive opportunities in the future.
