230 MAF Personnel Set to Graduate from UPNM This December, Translating Service Experience into Academic Qualifications
15 MAY 2026 | MELAKA: The Vice-Chancellor of UPNM, Lt Gen Datuk Wira Arman Rumaizi bin Hj Ahmad, attended the Launching Ceremony of the MINDEF Work-Based Learning (WBL 2.0) Programme 2026, officiated by the Honourable Minister of Defence, Dato’ Seri Mohamed Khaled Nordin.
Through this launch, MINDEF has increased the funding allocation for the WBL programme to nearly RM10 million—up from RM3 million last year—to expand higher education opportunities for Malaysian Armed Forces (MAF) personnel.

A total of 230 participants from Cohort 1/2025 are scheduled to graduate this December from UPNM, while 125 new participants have registered for Cohort 2/2026. The event also featured the exchange of a Memorandum of Agreement (MoA) between the MAF and UPNM to strengthen the implementation of the programme.
UPNM’s WBL 2.0 programme comprises the Diploma in Business Administration, Diploma in Logistics Management, and Diploma in Defence Technology Services, thereby reinforcing UPNM’s pivotal role as an institution that bridges the experience, education, and future of MAF personnel.
